My wife and I generally eat in front of the television.  Not particularly proper, but certainly practical.  After getting sick of tv-trays, she sent me a pin on Pinterest of a console table with a little bit of live edge (the natural curvature of the tree from which the wood is taken).  Thanks to the folks at Lumber Logs, here in St. Louis, I was able to find a nice slab of live-edge Black Walnut with a lot of nice figuring in the “crotch” where the tree’s branches split apart, and some cleaner Black Walnut and Ash to make the legs and lateral supports.  Below are some pictures of the table in the final phases:
